Specialist in Small Animal Surgery

About The Topic

It is estimated that osteoarthritis (OA) affects up to 20% of dogs over 1 year of age. Given the widespread nature of the problem and the extensive range of products available all claiming to help, where do we start? How do we guide our clients to make an informed decision about how to manage OA? This webinar will explore some of the key components of successful management of OA, and will look at the evidence behind why we do what we do.

Dr. John Punke graduated from the Veterinary College at the University of Georgia as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Over the next 8 years, he then completed 2 years of rotating and surgical internships at the Hollywood Animal Hospital, a 2 year post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Georgia, and small animal surgery residency, clinical instructorship, and master’s degree at the University of Missouri.

John is currently an adjunct at the University of Adelaide, and the Head of Small Animal Surgery at the Adelaide Animal Emergency and Referral Centre and performs Specialist Small Animal Surgeries full time.

John has authored 11 peer reviewed articles (8 of them as first author) and a book chapter, is a grant recipient, and has lectured at numerous national and international veterinary conferences.
