This presentation delivered in French, discusses the common causes of feline lower urinary tract signs (FLUTS) in cats and looks at the management of the three most common root causes of FLUTS – feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC), uroliths and urethral plugs – with a focus on therapeutic nutrient and management of stress. A case study is described in the section on feline idiopathic cystitis.

Dr. Brown graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2014, after which she returned to her home town of Montreal to work as a companion animal veterinarian. In 2016, Dr. Brown was offered a teaching position at Vanier College in Animal Health Technology. She taught a variety of courses including Laboratory Animals, Pathology, Research Methods, and Nursing and Radiology. Vanier College provided Dr. Brown the opportunity to be a member of the Universal Design for Learning task force, focusing on accessibility and providing educational tools to the entire college community. Dr. Brown quickly developed a love for all things pedagogy and as such she took up a part-time position as a Pedagogical Counsellor at the college while still teaching in Animal Health. In the summer of 2018, Dr. Brown took the position of Professional Consulting Veterinarian with Hill's Pet Nutrition Canada, bringing her passion for education to the company.
