Beth Brenninkmeyer
Chief Veterinary Officer at Guiding Eyes for the Blind
Dr. Brenninkmeyer has been associated with Guiding Eyes since the 1990s when she helped to raise a puppy. She subsequently came to Guiding Eyes for a veterinary externship, and then returned to accept a position as Assistant Director of Veterinary Services. After a pause to raise her three young children, Dr. B was warmly welcomed back to the organization.
As Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr B is responsible for overseeing all the veterinary operations including the management of two on-site veterinary hospitals and the health of all dogs in the kennels. Additionally, Dr Brenninkmeyer and her team consult with raisers, breeding fosters, specialists, regional veterinarians and guide dog handlers on a daily basis to coordinate and provide exceptional care for all Guiding Eyes’ Dogs.
Dr B and her husband, Gerald, live in Somers and are parents to Ben, Owen and Mae as well as dog parents to Hank the Boxer.
